500-Internal Server Error replies.

When our partner is attempting to send us a bunch of messages at one time (this test they sent us 5 at once), our AS2 server sent a 500 reply back to them, even though we've successfully received all 5 files. This 500 error back to them flagged their system to try to send the files again to us (resulting in duplicate responses).

I'm not sure exactly why this is happening. Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Did these messages request sync or async MDN? What size were these messages of?

they were all requesting

they were all requesting sync MDNs.
THe files were approximately 5-10kb in size

Beneath the problem you reported seems SYNC MDN mode not to be the best way to choose regarding reliability...
