Contributing to as2

totalogistix,
The core of our as2 solution is released under a dual license: The community version with lesser features under GPL and the commercial version (mendelson as2 server) under a commercial license.
A huge problem for as2 software is the compatibility to other products. That is where the community really helps a lot by their feedback!

Heller
I think it would be a GREAT idea. The reason is because currently we are running a bespoke version here as I've made changes to facilitate multiple instances of the application (as have others). This change could be useful to others, or it would have been useful to me if someone had committed to trunk before I started using MEC-AS2.
The downside of not allowing commits is that merging our changes with each new version of MEC-AS2 is painful. Its a shame there is no way to commit back into CVS. I believe it would make for a better product with more eyes on the code, but ultimately the decision rests with Heller and his company/employer.

What is your policy on contributing to the software? Not necessarily related to the core architecture, but I could definitely help with little mundane things like replacing string concats with StringBuilder etc., if you consider it necessary. What is your opinion? What is the opinion of the community on this?
