re-decrypt

AdamCox

I'm not sure If I'm going to get my answer when the VAN fixes the problem, but I thought I would start a thread on it.

My cert had expired and I couldn't send files (my original was signed by equifax) instead of going through that again, I made a self signed cert that would not expire for awhile.

I gave that cert to them, and I was able to start posting again :).

Now the kicker.
I cannot decrypt any document that they send me! ugh. its telling me that I need equifax:

  • 30676260.1216045618062.JavaMail.TcIsUser@PITTTNP01: To decrypt the data a key
  • with the following parameter is required:
    • X509CertSelector: [
    • Serial Number: 469636
    • Issuer: OU=Equifax Secure Certificate Authority,O=Equifax,C=US
    • matchAllSubjectAltNames flag: true

Now the million $ question. Once the VAN gets their cert thing worked out, will I be able decrypt the files that I previously was unable to? or do they need to be retransmitted?

Thanks
-Adam

Adam, as far as I understand

Adam,

as far as I understand they still use your old cert for send encryption. You will not be able to decrypt messages with your new cert that have been crypted with your old cert, your TP has to retransmit the data.

But why did they send you messages that have been encrypted with a cert that is expired, that is what I dont understand.

I think that the problem

I think that the problem comes into play where the equifax portion does not expire until 2018 and our portion was only valid for a year.
