stress test, got error Could not connect to JMS server

HI,
I am doing a stress test with a partner.
In this test the partner had sent 100 test messages, on 84 messages it worked fine, but on 16 messages I got the error
"AS2ServerRemoteImpl: javax.jms.IllegalStateException: Could not connect to JMS server with [(hostName=10.10.45.74,port=16023)] after 1 attempts during 0 secs: server is not listening"
Are there any way to change the limit of attempts or timeout ?
The 100 messages were processed in 3 minutes.
We did the test two times with similar results.
Have you tried with multiple partners or are you talking about 100 with the same partner? I'm just wondering in a real world situation how this would work out.
I have only one partner, all the test messages were with this partner.
I tried, in another environment (two test servers) , to exchange 1000 test messages without any error, but both AS2 servers were in the same internal network
