ANSI X.12 format descriptions

Where is the formatdescription directory at mec eagle? I've looked at all the links on all the mec eagle and sourceforge websites and haven't found it. Is there a tutorial on creation of format descriptions? are they made from info in the xxx.SEF files? I can attach a SEF file (850.SEF) if that would help anyone. If mec eagle is open source (and FREE as in "free beer") then why has no one offered free format descriptions. MEC eagle is relatively useless without some understanding of how to make, download or "buy" format descriptions, particularly X.12 in the case of my trading partners.
Looking forward to some positive information.

Hi,
Mainly I have no idea why there are no community created format descriptions available so far. Everybody could create them and upload them to threads etc.
That means you could create a formatdescription or a conversion and share it with the community. The formatdescriptions are based on xml, the conversions are based on xslt. There is a chapter in the m-e-c eagle in product documentation that describes these formats.
If you have installed m-e-c eagle please have a look into the subdirectory "formatdescription". You will find two sample formatdescriptions there, one for a SAP IDoc and the other for an EDIFACT.

I'm new to this forum and to m-e-c eagle, but I cannot find any X.12 format descriptions. When I tried to do an EDI to XML transformation, the software realized the input was ANSI X.12 and entered "c:\..\formatdescriptions/ANSIX12.850.xml" for the Source Description. However, it couldn't find this file. Are these description files made from the .SEF X.12 description files? Where may I find those already created or how do I go about creating them?
