socket write error

abelec

I am having trouble sending a file to a Windows server on which I have installed mec as2.

Here is the message from the client log:

[Jan 24, 2007 1:06:39 PM] mec_as2-1169661750655-89530@SSI_SSIWEB: Connection problem, failed to transmit data.

Here is what I'm seeing in the log from the server:

abelec, Could you please

abelec,

Could you please check the following issues?

  • There is a firewall blocking connections (have you configured the windows firewall for m-e-c as2?)
  • The server is down, unreachable from your network, or busy
  • Your internet connection is down.

Regards
Heller

The Windows firewall is off.

The Windows firewall is off. This is a web server, and port 8080 has been forwarded on the router. I can see the web page when I hit the server's address (on port 8080) from my web browser on my local machine.

I can remote desktop into the Windows server, and watch m-e-c from both sides.

Seems like a problem creating the socket on the server side. Could it be a java issue on the server?

abelec, If you can reach the

abelec,

If you can reach the url with the right port from outside with a browser but cannot open a connection to it with m-e-c as2 I have no clue what happens. Is there a problem on the local machine, e.g. a firewall?

Is there anybody else who encountered this problem so far and has an idea on how to solve it?

Regards
Heller

I have more information on

I have more information on this problem.

When I restart m-e-c as2 on the web server, I can send one file to it. But any subsequent attempts fail with the message:

Software caused connection abort: socket write error

It is as if the socket isn't being closed after the first transfer.

I have experimented a little

I have experimented a little more and have found that I can transfer a file as long as it is under 10KB. Anything over that size, and I get the "Software caused connection abort: socket write error".
